Welcome to Sri Lanka!
After arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be met by our representative, and begin your journey to Dambulla with a stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This is home to a large herd of rescued elephants, and you will get to see them being fed and bathed in the river — and this is a heartwarming experience to say the least.
After that, you will continue the drive through the beautiful countryside to Dambulla and check in at your hotel.
In the evening, we visit the famed Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with some of the world’s oldest murals and Buddha statues inside magnificent cave temples.
You will spend the night in Dambulla, in the heartland of culture in Sri Lanka, and the peace and quiet is tremendous.
Overnight stay in Dambulla.
After breakfast, begin your scenic journey to Nuwara Eliya, stopping en route at Kandy, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka.
Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, an important pilgrimage site housing the relic of Lord Buddha.
Take a leisurely stroll around the picturesque Kandy Lake and visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, known for its collection of orchids and tropical flora.
Later, drive up the winding hills to Nuwara Eliya, often called “Little England” for its colonial charm and cool climate.
Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and unwind amid the tea-covered hills and misty landscapes.
Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
Leave the hills behind and travel south towards the coast, stopping at the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore its cobblestones streets, Dutch-era architecture, and charming boutiques before continuing to Bentota, the idyllic beach resort on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast.
Check in at your beachfront hotel and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing by the Indian Ocean or indulging in optional water activities.
